The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other non‑profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip, or gift cards, from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Our school buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value. The discount ‑ from two to fifteen percent or more – is our revenue. Proceeds benefit the AWLS Wish List Fund.

Magazine and Newspaper Recycling
All newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogs, mail, office paper, self-stick notes, computer paper, envelopes without windows, construction paper, posters, folders, and fax papers can be placed in the green recycling bin in the corner of the school parking lot. Recycling not only raises funds for AWLS, it also saves land fill space. Processes go to the AWLS Wish List Fund.
Box Tops for Education
Clip Box Tops from hundreds of your favorite General Mills products. Each Box Top is worth $.10 to Abiding Word. Box Tops can be placed in the collection box in the school commons area. The proceeds support the Parent Teacher Organization.
Funding Factory
Millions of empty printer cartridges and used cell phones end up in the landfills each year. Our school can help save the environment by collecting these items. Through this program, we earn money in exchange for those otherwise useless items. Turn in your items in the Rubbermaid container found in the school commons area. The proceeds support the Parent Teacher Organization.
Office Depot’s Back to School
5% of your total school supply purchases can go to AWLS when you participate in Office Depot’s Back to School Program. AWLS ID#: 70121206. Proceeds go to the AWLS Wish List Fund.
Target REDcard
When you specify Abiding Word Lutheran School on your Target REDcard, 1% of your purchases at Target and Target.com, and 1/2% of your Target Visa credit card purchases are donated to our school. Proceeds support the School Wish List Fund.
