Our teachers are the heart and soul of our program. They are committed to supporting our students in their faith and in their studies. The teachers at AWLS are all active in our church community.

Ben Carlovsky
Principal and 7th/8th Grade Homeroom Teacher and Upper Grade Math and Technology

Education:
B.S. in Education – Martin Luther College (2003)

Personal Philosophy Statement:
I believe that everyone has a story to tell. Your story makes you unique. However, the story of Christ and his love for us is what drives our lives and my classroom.

Favorite Bible Verse:
Psalm 27:1 – “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”

Personal Interests:
I enjoy spending time with my wife, Betsy. Building legos and playing sports with my sons, Luke and Landon. I am also interested in watching and playing almost any sport.

Matt Lange
6th Grade Homeroom Teacher and Athletic Director

Education:

Experience:
Student Teaching- Risen Savior Lutheran Mankato, Minnesota Grades 7-8, Oak Point Elementary Eden Prairie, Minnesota Grade 2.

Personal Philosophy Statement:
We as Christians must able to give the reason for the hope we have as well as adapt to a world that is constantly changing. It is my goal to prepare my students for both.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

:
I enjoy spending time with my wife, playing and watching sports, fishing, and reading.

Betsy Carlovsky

Personal Philosophy Statement:
“Let the message of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom.” (Colossians 3:16) It is my joy and privilege to point my students to Jesus as we grow and learn together. I will help the students enjoy learning, so their love for learning lasts a lifetime. I will strive to teach the students using a variety of tools and methods and will work together with parents to help the students achieve success in their learning. It is my goal that my students will, most importantly, grow in their faith in their Savior, while also growing academically, socially, and emotionally.

Spending time with my husband Ben and my sons Luke and Landon, reading, the Green Bay Packers, spending time outdoors.

Personal Philosophy Statement:

As a teacher my mission is to create a loving safe learning environment where all of my students can grow in the love of their Savior. My goal is for all of my students to see that Jesus loves them, and will never stray from his lambs. I will try every day to show my students that they are all talented, and have the ability to reach their highest goals. Thank you so much for entrusting your little lambs into my care.

Personal Philosophy Statement:
I believe providing students with a Christ-centered learning environment will allow them to grow spiritually. I strive to provide my students with unique and challenging learning opportunities they will remember the rest of their lives. By reminding my students daily of the love and grace our Father in heaven has shown us, my hope is that my students and I will grow together in our faith throughout the year.

Personal Philosophy Statement:
As a teacher, I want my students to know that God loves them, is always there for them, and that they can always turn to God. I hope to inspire children to learn, to wonder, to love one another like Jesus loves us, and to live in peace with each other. If I can do that, I will feel that I have reached my goal! Each child is a unique gift from God, and I will love them for the child they are!

Romans 1:16,17 – “I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith’.”

Personal Interests:
Spending time with my family and friends. Playing the piano and singing, playing sports (especially basketball), reading, shopping, relaxing in the sun, and taking pictures.
